A Huge Problem in Society...

Right, before I get into this, I need to clear up that the population of children my age (12-13) do not know much about the world around them. This is a rant so don't be emailing me objecting this post.

Children are smart. No doubt about it. They are the future of this world or another and the pinnacle of knowledge and humour. At least I can say that about some people. I asked someone in my English class (not naming person) who the Prime Minister of the UK is (as a quiz question, not that I didn't know.) And they answered, what?

The fact that people the same age and knowledge range as me don't know who runs their OWN COUNTRY astounds me. I grew up not really knowing about politics. Until last year, I didn't know what the EU was! And now, 1 year later, I can have debates and conversations with my friends about it. But the fact that, after all that has gone on the last few months, some don't even know what it is is mind blowing and, frankly, is disgraceful.
